There has been a lot of buzz the last couple of days about the UNDFTD and The Generic Man collaboration.
Here goes the official press release:
Limited to 300 pairs of shoes handcrafted from vintage military textiles, the collection is a natural evolution for these longtime friends and mutual admirers. Named after the historic football game as well as the origins of its materials, ARMY VS. NAVY is the perfect marriage of fashion and function. A year in the works, the line takes the best of The Generic Man’s Re-Edit apres-sport series – high quality construction, clean lines and rare vintage textiles – and combines that with the sophisticated military edge found in Undefeated’s most recent collaborations with New Balance and Converse.
Designed in Los Angeles and hand sewn in northern Portugal, ARMY VS. NAVY is meant for an educated customer who may be looking for a subtler expression of style. Every pair of is one-of-a-kind, crafted from select cuts of vintage Navy dress whites, pea coats, wool U.S. Army blankets, green U.S. Forestry tents, mosquito netting, chambray work wear and blue-and-white striped canvas ticking, all sourced from one of the world’s foremost experts in vintage military textiles. Pieces are hand-picked for durability and character; visible seams, buttons, repairs, stains and other so-called “defects” are what make each shoe unique.
The collection will hit retailers June 12th.
More looks after the jump.
